2-DAY BROOM MAKING 11.17.18 - 11.18.18

265.00

Broom making is one of the pinnacles of CedarRoot’s offerings, and we are honored to welcome Maria Bullock back for this 2-day class. Brooms are largely taken for granted as ubiquitous, mass-produced items, but a handmade broom is a horse of a different color— a unique piece of functional art. Not only will you bring home a beautiful broom (or two) suited to your specific needs, you’ll help to revitalize an endangered craft.  Participants will construct an elegant broom out of broomcorn, with the potential of making a second as time allows.  Styles include large hand brooms, small hand brooms for the fireplace or shop, and dish scrubbers.  Clean your home with pride!  Finished brooms make wonderful gifts as well. Previous students welcomed to return and refine their skills.

November 17th & 18th:: Nordland, Wa. :: 9am- 4pm :: Ages 10-adult (children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult) :: $215 + $50 materials fee:: Instructor Maria Bullock
