SWEETGRASS BASKETS 9.22.18

55.00

For millennia, European and North American cultures have prized sweetgrass (Hierochloe odorata) for its heavenly scent and versatility. It’s latin name translates to “fragrant holy grass,” and has historically been burned as incense or woven into braids or baskets that retain their scent even after dried. In this workshop, artist Margie Weaver will guide you through making a basket out of organically grown sweetgrass from her south Minneapolis garden. No basketry experience necessary.
