FORGE YOUR OWN WOODWORKING TOOLS 3.23.19 - 3.24.19

350.00

A two-day workshop producing your own woodworking tools such as a chisel and draw knife.  The workshop teaches basic blacksmithing, heat treating, and tool making techniques.  Tools will be forged from recycled car springs, files and hay rake teeth and then heat treated and tempered.  Instruction will be given on grinding and finishing tools. We will cover fitting handles students may make basic handles as time allows or take home to handle later. Safety and respect for materials and the forge environment will be emphasized.  The class blends demonstration and short lecture with lots of hands on practice under the watchful eye of the instructor.

Class size is limited to 6.  Students need ALL cotton clothing, gloves, and leather shoes or boots.
