WOODSPLITTING WORKSHOP 10.7.17

35.00

Have you ever wanted to split your own firewood using a maul?  Or are you wondering if your wood-splitting technique could use a little tune up?  This time-proven, meditative practice can be great as an exercise while also helping load your woodpile.  Come learn how to set the wood prior to a strike, maximize the power of your stroke, and get the best for your effort.  This course is designed to help beginners get into the swing of splitting wood with a maul.  We will spend some time talking about techniques that may improve your chances of getting wood to split, and a few hours – depending on your stamina – will be spent practicing those techniques.  Bring your own maul and a tough attitude.  Splitting wood can be hard work but lots of fun.

Kala Point :: Oct 7 :: 9am - Noon :: Adults and 16+ with parent/guardian enrollment:: Skill level: Students should be physically fit enough to swing a heavy maul and coordinated enough to keep their balance through a powerful rotation ending in a blow to the wood ::  Tuition: $35, students bring their own maul, safety glasses, and gloves :: Instructor Dave Rugh
